1948 - management member of the Union of USSR Composers, docent of Azerbaijan State Conservatory, delegate of 1st National USSR Congress of Soviet Composers, laureate of State prize for Symphonic poem "Leyli and Madjnun", Head of the music section of Azerbaijan Architecture and Art Institute.

1949 - Director of Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after U.Hadjibayov - till 1953, enrolment to the Communist Party of the USSR.

1918 - Gara Abulfaz Garayev was born on 5th of December in Baku.

1926 - pupil of the music school within the Azerbaijan State Conservatories.

1952 - management chairman of the Union of Composers of Azerbaijan SSR, member of the State Committee of Struggle for Peace, trip to Democratic Republic of Albania as a member of Soviet Culture and Art delegation.

1953 - delegate of the IV USSR Conference of the Peace supporters, premier of the Ballet "Seven Beauties" in Leningrad State Small Opera Theatre.

1954 - member of Committee of Lenin and State prizes of the USSR - till 1982.

1955 - Honored Art Worker of Azerbaijan SSR, member of Supreme Soviet of USSR (IV convocation) - till 1959.

1956 - 1st secretary of the Union of Composers - till 1973.

1957 - member of the Union of Cinemographies, delegate of the USSR festival II of Soviet films for the music to the film "Two from a Block", member of Executive Board of the USSR composers - till 1962.

1958 - National artist of the Azerbaijan SSR, deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (the V convocation), laureate of the USSR festival II of soviet films (Kiev) for music to the "On the far Shores" film.

1959 - National artist of the USSR, professor of the composition department of Azerbaijan State Conservatory named after U.Hajibayov, a real member of Academy of Science of Azerbaijan SSR., tour to Czekhoslovakiya for the premiere of the "Seven Beauties" ballet (Prague, Bratislava, Brno).

1961 - participant of the 1st International festivale of comtemporary music in Los-Angeles (USA) with performance of the Second Suite from the ballet "Thundered Path", awarded with the Red Banner prize.

1962 - member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (the VI convocation), delegate of the 2 nd USSR Congress of the Composers of the USSR, 1st secretary of the Union of USSR Composers, delegate of the 3 rd USSR Congress of Composers, jury member of the 2 nd International contest named after P.I. Chaikovsky, visit to USA in delegation of public figures of the Soviet culture and art.

1963 - visit to the Arabian Republic of Egypt in connection with the perfomance of the "Seven beauties" ballet in Cairo in the stage of Leningrad Small Opera Theatre.

1964 - visit to the musical festival of modern music "Warsaw Path" (Poland) in connection with the performance of the ballet "Thundered Path" during the guest performances of the Great Theatre of the USSR.

1965 - laureate for M. F. Akhundov prize for music to the performance of "Anthony andKleopatra" premiere of 3rd Symphony in Moscow - April, 21, 1st performance of the 3rd Symphony in Baku - June 2.

1966 - member of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (of the VII convocation), member of jury of the 2nd USSR Congress of the conductors, tour to Spain on the delegation of the Soviet culture and art, premiere of "Classical Suite" in Baku.

1967 - laureate of Lenin prize for the ballet "Thundered Path", awarded with Lenin prize.

1968 - premiere of the violin concert in Gorkiy - April, 21, the 1st perfomance in Moscow - April, 28.

1969 - tour to Paris to World Dance Festival with the "Seven Beauties" ballet and music production of symphonic poem "Leyli andMajnun", tour to Japan on the delegation of public figures of the soviet culture and art.

1970 - deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR (VIII convocation).

1971 - tour to Democratic Republic of Germany on the delegation of producer group of "Lenfilm" for work on music of film "Goyya", rewarded with the prize of October Revolution.

1972 - tour to Poland for participation in the Congress of the secretariats of the Union of Composers of the USSR and modern music festival "Autumn in Warsaw", member of jury of the 2nd International ballet Competition in Moscow.

1973 - Deputy of Supreme Soviet of USSR (IX convocation), member of jury of the 5 th international Contest named after P.I. Chaikovsky in Moskow, visit to Turkey for participation at the Congress "Modality in music" (Istanbul).

1976 - tour to Italy for the participation in the work of symposium "Training of young Composers" in the Pezaro city, as well as in collaborative meeting of the soviet and Italian composers.

1978 - hero of Socialist Labour, tour to Paris for participation in the work of congress World Agency of Author Rights, premiere of the musical "Furious Gaskonian", in perfomance of Moscow Opera Theatre.

1982 - died on May, 13 in Moscow and buried in Baku, in the Alley of Honor Burring.
